About
Hello! I'm Matthew Scrivner, an artist based in San Francisco.
I grew up in Oklahoma City, where I found a passion for creation at the Classen School of Advanced Studies. Later, I moved to Tulsa to pursue a BA in Film Studies and Economics at the University of Tulsa.
On campus, I led the TUTV crew and on-screen talent in creating a successful news show each week as director, having moved up the ranks from camera operator. I designed interactive experiences, curated artworks, and managed a $2k+ budget for two massive student-led art exhibitions while treasurer of the Gilcrease Junior Board. My commitment to the local arts culminated in my capstone project: creating, animating, and scoring a pilot for an animated limited series, partnering with a writer and cast of 7 stellar voice actors.
I’ve worked in a variety of positions in videography and photography, from filming interviews and live performances to snapping kids punching each other in the face until they’re seeing stars and forgetting their names. While working at The Engine Room boxing gym, I also helped create promotional content for their VR boxing game studio and initial title launch. I’ve brought companies’ visions to life by creating animated shorts, producing social media content for a real estate influencer, and making imaginative edits for youtube.
Last year I shipped off for California after landing my first full-time editing role, opening up the creative possibilities I’ve always been working towards. I now live in SF, joining Kikoff as a video editor, where I've been engineering winning ads for top finance apps and pioneering AI-driven creative concepts.
When I’m not working, I enjoy meeting up with friends at concerts and comedy shows, going for long bike rides, and watching beautiful sunsets from my hammock. I also love going on solo expeditions, exploring and documenting the world through my digital art page & photo journal. Recently, I’ve been diving deeper into music, and plan to share my first song later this year.
I’m always excited to connect with fellow creators to see what new ideas may emerge.
